Provider Spotlight: Casey Grover, MD, FASAM, FACEP

Meet Dr. Grover, a leader in innovative, low-barrier addiction medicine on the Central Coast and the voice behind the Addiction Medicine Made Easy podcast.

Dr. Grover practices Addiction Medicine and Emergency Medicine with Montage Health. He graduated from medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles, ranking among the top three students in his class. He completed his residency at Stanford University in Emergency Medicine, serving as chief resident, and has completed post-graduate training in Addiction Medicine. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Grover serves as Chief of Staff for the hospital and is the Physician Champion for the Monterey County Prescribe Safe Initiative, advancing safe and effective prescribing practices in the community.

At Pacific Rehab, Dr. Grover and his team treat addiction by looking beneath the surface—addressing underlying conditions and personalizing care with modern tools like long-acting injectable medications and pharmacogenomic testing. His mobile street-outreach team also brings lifesaving care directly into the community, redefining what addiction treatment can look like—immediate, compassionate, and accessible to everyone who needs it.

For Dr. Grover, addiction is not a personal failure but a signal that deeper challenges—like PTSD, anxiety, or ADHD—need attention. By addressing these underlying conditions, he helps people heal at the root, rather than simply managing symptoms. His work is more than medical care—it’s life-changing support. By making treatment immediate, comprehensive, and humane, he gives individuals the tools, resources, and hope they need to reclaim stability and wellbeing. From the clinic to the streets, and even through his podcast, Dr. Grover is making addiction care truly accessible, stigma-free, and deeply effective for the community.

A Whole-Person, Low-Barrier Approach

One of the hallmarks of Dr. Grover’s program is low-barrier access. Patients don’t have to wait weeks to get help: Pacific Rehab offers same-week appointments and walk-ins, and Medi-Cal patients don’t need referrals. This means individuals can begin treatment the moment they are ready, removing barriers that often delay care.

Dr. Grover’s philosophy is grounded in treating every patient with dignity. Through person-first language and a harm-reduction approach, he and his team create a judgment-free space where patients feel understood and supported.

Integrated Care and Community Support

Treatment at Pacific Rehab goes beyond prescriptions. Patients receive medication, therapy referrals, and peer support from specialists with lived experience. This combination ensures people are supported medically, emotionally, and socially.

Dr. Grover also leads mobile and street outreach through the Central Coast Overdose Prevention nonprofit. This program brings care directly to people living on the street, including long-acting injectable medications that remove daily pharmacy barriers, making recovery more accessible for everyone.

Modern, Evidence-Based Medicine

In addition to compassionate care, Dr. Grover integrates cutting-edge medical tools into his practice. From long-acting medications to pharmacogenomic (GeneSight) testing, he personalizes treatment plans to improve outcomes and support sustained recovery.

Community Impact and Education

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Grover is committed to educating the community and reducing stigma around addiction. He hosts a podcast, sharing insights about addiction medicine, harm reduction, and strategies for supporting people in recovery. Through these efforts, he raises awareness, provides hope, and encourages understanding throughout the Central Coast.
