Janessa (she/her) is an associate clinical social worker who is passionate about providing a welcoming, empathetic, non-judgmental, and inclusive therapeutic environment. She has over 5 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, complex trauma, attachment wounds, grief, and substance misuse. Janessa holds dual master’s degrees in social work and psychology from University of Southern California and Antioch University.
She views the therapeutic process as an opportunity for you to explore present and past life experiences through a lens of curiosity and compassion. This exploration creates space for you to gain insight into the thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that prevent you from living a whole and authentic life. She believes deeply in the power of feeling seen and heard, as well as human capacity to endure and overcome even the most difficult circumstances.
Janessa takes a person-centered approach to therapy and is she is trained in internal family systems therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectal behavioral therapy.
She is passionate about providing trauma-informed care and practices from a “Health at Every Size” perspective. Therapy is a collaborative process, and she will work with you to create a treatment plan that addresses your unique challenges and needs.
