Clarity is the antidote to overload
1. Identify What Truly Matters
Ask: What is most important right now?
When everything feels urgent, nothing is clear. Essentialism teaches that clarity reduces overwhelm.
Try This:
-
- If I could only complete ONE key task this week, what would it be?
- Does this task align with my core role or biggest outcome?
- Would I regret not focusing on this in 6 months?
Boundaries are protection – not rejection
2. Say “No” to Protect What Matters
When you say yes to the trivial things, you may be saying no to focus, family, strategic thinking, rest.
Try This:
-
- Pause before responding to new requests.
- Use: “I’m at capacity and can’t give this the attention it deserves.”
- Ask: Is this mine to carry?
