Dr. Suárez is a bilingual/bicultural licensed Counseling Psychologist with over 13 years of experience in the treatment of children, teens, families and adults with both an individual and community-health approach. Her educational journey includes 4 different degrees related to the field of psychology including Clinical, Health, Industrial/Organizational, and Counseling Psychology. Degrees were obtained in Boston, Madrid, and Puerto Rico which has given her a lot of experience in different types of people and cultures. Her pre-doctoral internship was at The Children’s Center in Utah followed by a completion of post-doctoral hours at Uplift Family Services, both non-profit organizations specializing in children, teens and families from all walks of life.

Dr. Suárez enjoys her job and calls it her vocation. She believes that transparency, genuineness, and lack of judgement are essential to establish a good rapport with her clients and help give them the safe space they need in order to achieve their goals and manage any distress happening in their lives. She understands the necessity of recognizing the difficulty and beauty of the human journey as well as the importance of humor and mindfulness to help people overcome any obstacles that come their way. She also enjoys being a lecturer at CSUMB where she teaches a course for future teachers related to Abnormal Psychology in Children and Teens which she very much enjoys.
